The Utility Notification Center of Colorado (UNCC) is committed to providing the best customer service possible to both our facility members, the excavation community and the public.
In order to assure that our members and excavators are receiving the highest level of service, it is essential that UNCC adopt a policy that establishes procedures for processing requests for information.

Fee Schedule:
Effective January 1, 2010
Tier One Membership Application Fee: $25.00
Tier One Members receive notices of requests to locate their underground systems and are billed monthly for these notices, per the following schedule.
Payment is due upon receipt, and considered past due after the 10th day of the month following the billing cycle.
Example: Billing for January is due by February 10th. Message Fees:
Messages transmitted via computer to printer, fax, modem,
or email: $1.54
Messages transmitted via telephone: $1.90
Identical messages transmitted to a second printer: $1.54
Cancellations: $1.54 Tier Two Application Fee: $25.00
Tier Two members receive limited service from UNCC. Callers requesting location of underground utilities will be given the name and telephone number of a Tier Two member and must call these facility owners directly.
Fee
Structure:
All fees for research are
based upon the research of records pertaining to a
single locate ticket. All locate tickets are given a
unique number. Professional and homeowner excavators as
well as contract locating services are subjected to the
following research fees and fee structure:
Research performed with
the ticket number provided by the requestor and, date of
excavation and location provided with the research
request:

$40.00 for the first one hour and
$30.00 for each half hour thereafter. |
Research performed
without the ticket number being provided by the
requestor and, date of excavation and location being
provided:

$50.00 for the first one hour and
$40.00 for each half hour thereafter. |
Voice recording data
research is in addition to all other charges and is a
minimum of $40.00 per recording. Each ticket is
one recording. All other research requests are serviced
at $50.00 an hour.
UNCC reserves the right
to require payment in advance. The advance payment will
be based upon its estimate of the total research cost
likely to be incurred.

Requesting
Ticket Research:
Research requests from a requesting party must be submitted using the online form at www.uncc.org Excavators and homeowners who do not have access to the Internet may request research services through UNCC’s research voice mailbox available through the published number.
Requestors must provide a ticket number and associated date and location information for a specific locate request to facilitate the research process.
Data
Retention:
Locate requests, records related to transmission of locate requests and voice recordings are generally retained for a four (4) year period.
This information is stored and accessible by UNCC on the following media:

Response Time:
The response time to research requests varies depending upon the call volume at the time of the request.
During the months of October through February, the general time frame is usually five (5) business days.
From March through September, research may take one (1) to three (3) weeks.
Research is provided on a first-in/first-out (FIFO) basis.
Research related to emergencies and litigation has priority and UNCC will make every reasonable effort to respond by the specified court date.

The following sections outline the research services provided to Tier I members, Tier II members, excavators, homeowners, and contract locate services. Tier I Membership:

The Tier II membership category specifies that Tier II members are responsible for processing and maintaining their own locate information and Tier II members by election waive the UNCC full-service and Tier I services |

Ticket information and voice recordings are generally retained for a period of four (4) years and a verbal confirmation is provided to Tier II members subject to a research fee |

Verbal confirmation of a locate request is provided if the request is made within sixty (60) days of the ticket’s locate-by-date – there is no charge for this service |

Ticket information and voice recordings generally are retained for a period of four (4) years and a verbal confirmation will be provided to excavators for requests beyond 60 days subject to a research fee |

UNCC acquires and retains information in several formats.
The following lists the types of records, which are retained by
UNCC.
Voice Data:

UNCC. Voice recordings are usually retained for a four (4) year period.
The recordings confirm information communicated between the caller and
UNCC. |
Hardcopy Ticket Information:

A hardcopy ticket generated from Ticket Entry will only be distributed to Tier I members and when a subpoena is issued to UNCC as part of a litigation process. |
WTE, Fax-a-Locate, E-Ticket:
